Want to create student email groups?

This resource was posted on twitter (http://bit.ly/nYhgU2). This is an easy way to create email groups for students or parents using our Google Apps for Educators account. In a class I took this summer, the instructor pointed out that he collects student cell phone numbers with their carrier extensions. Apparently every cell phone number can act as an email address. When you email a cell it shows up as a text message. This is how he sends out text message updates to his students. Another way to do this would be to create a twitter account and have students follow it with their cell phones. They will get text message updates about class this way as well. Basically, there is a host of creative ways you can deliver important information about your course to students and parents.
