The Future is Now

Technology Tuesday

This week:

Last week I spent three days at the Classrooms for the Future Bootcamp in Hershey, PA.  CFF Coaches from nearly every school in PA were in attendance.  This was a fabulous three day training that started early in the morning and went late into the evening.  I would love the opportunity to share with you some of what was presented during this conference.  I hope to share some of the 21st century skills and instructional strategies PDE is hoping to see in classrooms across the state.  Also, I have some great resources from the conference to pass on as well.

Please make sure to fill out this week’s attendance survey.

Next week:

I’m really not sure at this point.  I added a spot on this week’s attendance survey for suggestions.

Last week:

Since I was out of town I missed Erin’s session on student products.  Through the grapevine I heard Erin shared some great student work and gave a demonstration on using Audacity.

Ed Tech Resources Update:

The Tech Department has started a new system for submitting work orders on Firefly.  Make sure to stop by and watch Dave’s screencast on how to do this.

Blog Posts of the Week:

RSA Animate - Drive - This lively RSA Animate video is adapted from a Dan Pink speech dealing with what really motivates people.  The research is pretty surprising and has definite implications for the classroom.  RSA Animate videos are pretty brilliant and definitely worth the time to watch!

RSA Animate - Changing Education Paradigms - Since you will not be able to watch just one, I have also included one I posted some time ago to the discussion section of the Edtech Resources Page.  This one is adapted from a Sir Ken Robinson speech.

Sheryl NussbaumBeach - Sheryl spoke at the CFF Bootcamp last week.  Great educator to follow using Twitter.
