Tech Tuesday - April 24, 2012

posted Apr 19, 2012, 5:23 PM by Jason Suter
We are now returning to our regular scheduled program!

What are the goals of Tech Tuesday?
  1. To make staff aware of technology solutions they can utilized in their classroom. Time savers, instructional aids, communication aids, collaboration aids, and other good stuff.
  2. To provide time for staff to share best practices in integrating technology into their curriculum.
  3. A way to exchange information and ideas about current technology integration practices in education. Also, to open a line of communication between tech staff and teachers within the high school.

For the next few weeks we will be focusing on goal #3. You may not realize it, but Dave Fry has attended every Tech Tuesday session we have run this year. This is always a good time to discuss what is happening in the high school with him. So, for the next few weeks we will be looking towards the future. Right now we are exploring the possibilities of starting a hybrid 1 to 1 program with Google Chromebooks next year. With that in mind, Dave will be running the next few Tech Tuesdays. If you have any of the following questions please attend. We will try our best to answer all of them over the next few weeks.
  1. What is a 1 to 1 hybrid program?
  2. When would this program start?
  3. What is a Google Chromebook?
  4. Will a Chromebook be able to do the things I do in my classroom?
  5. Will there be Chromebooks available for my students to use in the classroom this year?

If you can not attend, I will be happy to sit down with you and answer whatever questions you have to the best of my abilities. I certainly realize we are all busy people and can not always attend every meeting. That said, it would be really helpful if we could start on time, as close to 7:30 as possible.
