Technology Tuesday Update

This week:

Drew has invited Ms. Carolyn Angelo to join us for Technology Tuesday and speak about social networking.  Social networks like Twitter and Facebook offer many great opportunities for educators, but there are some potential problems.  Ms. Angelo will be discussing what we can do to protect ourselves from some of the dangers of social networking.  Visit the Personal Learning Networks page on the Ed Tech Resources Site to learn how educators are benefiting from social media.

Next week:

During the first year we participated in the CFF grant we had time set aside for collaboration.  We quickly discovered that this was one of the best ways to become inspired about new opportunities to incorporate 21st Century Skills into our classrooms.  Students are using a variety of new technologies to create products in many of their classes in the high school.  Sometimes all we have to do is offer students the opportunity to incorporate these tools in our assignments.  Next week Erin Smith will be showcasing some student products.  This will be a great time to see some of the ways our students are using Web 2.0 and other technologies to demonstrate their learning.

Ed Tech Resource Site Update:

I have added a Technology Tuesday section to the Ed Tech Resources page.  All Technology Tuesday updates will be posted here in in case you miss a session, or would like to go back and review some of the links included in the emails.
